O-G Language Approach Basic Training (5 days) and Advanced Morphology Training (1 day).
Training will run in three location in 2025: Hobart, Launceston & Penguin. Dates to be advised.

The Orton-Gillingham (OG) method is NOT a program.  It is a structured literacy approach that teaches students how words and language work for speaking, reading and writing.

The explicit, systematic and multisensory instruction of the OG approach prepares educators to successfully provide reading instruction to ALL students and TARGETED instructions to struggling readers, including those who have dyslexia. The starting point of the OG approach is teaching children the sounds of the English language, and the letter combinations that represent those sounds.  It then connects this to the meaning being communicated.

Upon completing this course participants will have acquired the skills necessary to fully implement this data driven solution for teaching reading and the early foundations of writing to all students. This course provides participants with the skills they need to master the fundamentals of reading instruction —phonological awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, comprehension and develop the early foundations for writing.

Participants of OG training will not only learn WHAT to teach, but HOW to teach and WHY it makes a difference!  You’ll also take away with you all the materials needed to deliver the approach in your context.

This course is suitable for all including teachers, speech pathologists, teachers assistants, parents.
